Covid 19 Policy

It is well established in the medical literature that side effects to dermal fillers / botox in the form of nodules and local reactions can occur weeks, months, or even years after the treatment, when our immune system is being challenged.

SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19 infection), as well as the Covid- 19 vaccinations are both highly challenging to our immune system by over- simulating its response.

Potential triggers could also include viral illnesses, bacterial infections, dental procedures, excessive UV exposure, subsequent minimally invasive aesthetic treatments, and vaccinations.

Therefore both (Covid- 19 infection, as well as the vaccine) can lead to complications after filler / botox injections, such as those mentioned above.

So far, generally there is a very low incidence of such cases reported. Your safety, however, is paramount to us and therefore we are advising you the following:

1) Do not have filler / botox injections 2 weeks before your planned vaccination and for 4 weeks after.

2) If you have been infected with Covid- 19, do not have filler/ botox  injections in the first 3 weeks after you have been symptom free.

3) If you develop any symptoms after filler/botox injections please get in touch with our clinic immediately.

Our practitioners  will advise you further.

The above advice concerns dermal / botox fillers only. There is no evidence so far to suggest that other medical aesthetic treatments cause complications after Covid vaccination, or after infection with SARS-CoV-2.
